Terms & Conditions

  1. These Terms & Conditions (“T&Cs”) govern the provision of mobile dog grooming services by Bark, Bath & Beyond to you the client. By booking my services, you agree to abide by these T&Cs.

    2. Definitions

  2. Service: All grooming treatments (bath, clip, nail trim, styling, etc) performed by me at your chosen location.

  3. Appointment: A confirmed booking date/time for the Service.

  4. Vehicle: A purpose built mobile grooming van.

    3. Booking & Payment

  5. Booking Confirmation: An Appointment is confirmed only once we have received full payment or a non refundable deposit of 50% via Bacs.

  6. Final Payment: Any balance is due at the end of the Service before my departure (cash, card, or approved online payment).

  7. Prices: I reserve the right to amend prices with 30 days notice to existing clients.

  8. Flea Treatment Charge: If fleas are detected on your dog at the time of Service, a £15 surcharge will apply. This covers the cost of veterinary grade flea shampoo plus a full flea bomb and deep clean of the mobile van to prevent reinfestation.

  9. Severe Matting & Pelted Coat Fee:

    1. When it applies: If your dogs coat has become heavily matted or pelted from going too long between grooms - requiring more than routine detangling - including shaving areas down to the skin to relieve discomfort, a surcharge will apply.

    2. Fee Range: £10-£20, determined by the severity of matting/pelting and extra time required.

    3. Client Approval: I will assess on arrival, then confirm the exact fee with you before beginning any extra work. The agreed amount will be added to your final invoice.

    4. Price adjustments on site

  10. Estimate Basis: All quotes provided at booking are based on the information you supply and the apparent condition of your dog.

  11. On-site Assessment: Upon arrival, if I determine that additional work is required (for example, severe mat removal, extra deshedding, extended behavioural handling or use of specialist products), I reserve the right to adjust the price to reflect the true scale of the job.

  12. Client Approval: I will always advise you of any necessary price increase before carrying out the extra work. No additional work will be performed without your explicit approval (either written or verbal).

  13. Final Invoice: Your final invoice will include any agreed adjustments. If your choose not to proceed with the extra services at the revised rate, the original appointment may be cancelled and standard cancellation charges (see Section 5) will apply.

    5. Late Payment & Legal Action

  14. Payment Terms: Final Payment is due at the end of the Service. Any outstanding balance must be settled within 7 days of the Service date.

  15. Late Fees: Payments not received within 7 days will incur a late fee equal to 5% of the outstanding balance per week (or the maximum rate permitted by law).

  16. Legal Remedies: If payment remains outstanding 30 days after the Service date, I reserve the right to:

    1. Report unpaid debt as theft of services to the relevant authorities and;

    2. Initiate proceedings in the Small Claims Court to recover all sums due - including outstanding fees, late-payment charges, administrative costs, and any legal expenses.

    6. Cancellation & Rescheduling

  17. By you: You may cancel or reschedule up to 48 hours before your Appointment without charge. Cancellations within 48 hours incur a fee of 50% of Service cost. “No show” clients are charged in full.

  18. By me: I may cancel or postpone due to vehicle breakdown, illness or extreme weather; I will reschedule at the earliest mutually convenient time, or offer a refund of any deposit paid.

    7. Health & Behaviour

  19. Pre-appointment assessment: You must disclose any health, behavioural or medical issues (e.g. aggression, recent surgery, skin conditions). I reserve the right to refuse or modify Services for the welfare of your dog.

  20. Veterinary Clearance: For dogs with serious medical conditions, I may require a vets written consent before proceeding.

  21. Breeding Dogs:

    1. All dogs intended for breeding must be groomed prior to mating.

    2. I will not perform any grooming on dogs that are potentially pregnant. Grooming may resume only after all puppies have been fully weaned.

    8. Client Responsibilities

  22. Ensure your dog is up to date with vaccinations and flea/tick treatments.

  23. Provide a safe, level parking space within 10 meters of your door.

  24. Secure children and other pets away from the Vehicle during service.

    9. Mobile Van Access & Parking

  25. You agree to allow our Vehicle safe and legal access and parking. Any penalties or recovery costs due to improper parking are payable by you.

    10. Liability & Insurance

  26. Liability: I hold full liability and professional indemnity insurance. I accept liability only for direct loss or damage caused by my negligence, up to the limit of my insurer’s policy.

    Exclusions: I am not liable for:

    1. Pre-existing health issues or behavioural injuries (e.g. bites) unless caused by my negligence.

    2. Property damage beyond direct grooming (e.g. trim debris in your driveway).

  27. Equipment & Cable Damage

    1. Client Responsibility: You are responsible for any damage caused to my mobile grooming equipment - including power cables - while it is set up on your property.

    2. Replacement Costs: Should a cable or any other item be broken, you agree to reimburse me for the full cost of replacement or repair at current market value.

  28. 11. Data Protection Act

  29. I process your personal data (name, address, contact, pet details) in accordance with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018. By booking you consent to my storing and using your information for appointment management and marketing (you may opt out at any time).

    12. Complaints & Feedback

  30. Please raise any concerns within 7 days of your Appointment. I will aim to resolve any issues promptly; if unresolved, disputes will be subject to the Courts of England and Wales.

    13. Governing Law

  31. These T&Cs are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be dealt with in the Courts of England and Wales.
